Building high performance teams through great leadership has been a lifelong passion. In 2003 I left my leadership career and opened Gaynor Consulting to offer my experience through workshops, individual coaching and keynote speaking. I've since provided leadership development work to a large group of diverse clients.

There is so much faddish thinking in leadership today – each new bestseller offers another new "better" way to lead but experience has convinced me that teams have always thrived and declined for the same reasons and so I am unapologetically a proponent of more enduring timeless leadership practices. My book, The Heart and Hands of Leadership: The Twelve Timeless Practices of Effective Leaders, describes these and forms a framework for the workshops I offer. I know this timeless approach works because it worked for me as my career advanced from the sales supervisor of a small team to president of a large daily newspaper with over 700 employees.

My work is practical. I want people leaving a workshop, coaching session or keynote with new tools they can put to work right away.

As an individual coach, I am as comfortable with senior executives as I am with entry-level leaders. I offer a trustworthy sounding board, someone who has walked the path personally, striving to help each client make thoughtful choices and develop his or her fullest potential.
